PEASLAKE FARM & COMUNNITY GARDEN – VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY REQUIRED FOR HEDGE PLANTING - SATURDAY 8TH MARCH
Due to last minute financial support, hedge planting has been approved at Peaslake Farm.
This is very exciting as it will help with the farm’s regenerative approach, harmonising farming with nature and the environment; and protecting our landscape for future years.

However the challenge is that the hedging needs to be planted in the next two weeks to comply with funding requirements and seasonal planting.
A planting day has been set for Saturday the 8th March and volunteers are urgently requested to plant up the mixed native bare root plants.
This is no small undertaking, and with 580m to plant, we need as many people as possible!
This is a fun day out for all of the family and whether you can spare a half day or whole day, your input will make a difference for the future.
To keep you fuelled bacon rolls, coffee and other complimentary refreshments will be available throughout the day. An onsite toilet will also be available.
Timing - We start at 9.30am but if you can’t make it then, just turn up when you can. We will keep going until its complete.
Where – Peaslake Farm (next to the old farm buildings) Access will be signed, Please walk up to the farm as there will be no parking onsite.
What do I need? – Wellies (essential, its very wet everywhere), gloves and a spade if you have one. We will have spares.
Method – It’s not difficult – a slit trench, heel in root, attach spiral guard and cane. Small teams usually work best. Competitive planting has been known to happen!
